Claretian Sisters In The New Nigerian Mission
Wednesday 10 March 2010

Three sisters from different countries and cultures (Nigeria, Congolese and Polish) from the first community of our Congregation Religious of Mary Immaculate, Claretian Missionary sisters in Nigeria. We came at the invitation of the Claretian Missionaries who wanted us to collaborate in their mission and we started in Owerri at the beginning of the year 2009. They gave us a part of their Provincial House for a temporary accommodation.

Our congregation was founded in Cuba in 1855 by St Anthony Maria Claret and Maria Antonia Paris. Claret being Archbishop of the Island saw great missionary needs there and called Maria Antonia from Spain to help him in Christian education of girls, since that time we have spread to over 20 countries in 4 continents and our main goal is to live the gospel the utmost faithfully and to announce it to everybody in the world so that god might be known and loved by all people.
In a special way we love and imitate Mary Immaculate, who is fighting against every evil, we try to live perfect poverty as the foundation of the new Apostles, work until death, contribute to the continuous renewal of the Church and the consecrated life.
We live the family style in our communities sharing goods both material and spiritual, looking for collaboration in the mission and building friendship between us.
In Owerri Archdioces we collaborate with Claretian Missionaries in their school “Claret Academy” and we are preparing for the mission in Mbutu Okohia where we hope to run the health center as the Archbishop has assigned us.
