PROFILE OF THE MEMBERS OF NEWLY ELECTED PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT 2010 – 2016.

 

VERY REV. FR. SIMEON NWOBI, CMF, PROVINCIAL SUPERIOR.

He was born on the 25th of March, 1960, he hails from Ahiazu Mbaise, L.G.A. of Imo State. On the 25th of March, 1983, he did his first Religious Profession. He professed perpetually in 1988 and was ordained a priest in 1990. Since after his ordination he has worked as a missionary in the Catholic Archdiocese of Ibadan and as bursar at House of Theology, Attakwu. Between 1997 and 2000 he was on study leave in Rome, where he majored in Mission Theology. He taught in Bigard Memorial Seminary, Enugu, from 2000 to 2009. He combined the teaching apostolate with the enormous task of being the Parish Priest of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Nekede and that of Prefect of Apostolate after he was elected a Consultor during the V Provincial Chapter in 2005. He was also appointed Provincial Vicar during the immediate past Provincial Government. When Very Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Edeh, cmf, the immediate past Provincial Superior was elected a General Consultor in Rome, shortly before our Provincial Chapter, Very Rev. Fr. Simeon Nwobi, then the Vicar of the Province took over as the Provincial Superior for three months to complete the last lap of that administration before the Celebration of the VI Provincial Chapter, in January, 2010, which elected him the Provincial Superior for the next six years (2010 – 2016). To him we say Congratulations!

 

REV. FR. ANTHONY AZINTA, CMF, PROVINCIAL VICAR/ PREFECT OF APOSTOLATE.

He was born on the 16th of April, 1959. He is a native of Mgbowo in Agwu, L.G.A. of Enugu State. He made his first profession on the 25th of March, 1983. His final profession was made in 1987. He was ordained a Claretian Missionary priest on the 15th of July, 1989. He is a seasoned missionary who has worked in Federal Republic of Gabon, Owerri Archdiocese and Nnewi Diocese in Nigeria respectively. Fr. Anthony Azinta after some years of missionary experience took a study leave in France where he specialized in Pastoral Theology. He has been a visiting lecturer at Claretian Institiute of Philosophy, Nekede. Before his election as the Provincial Prefect of Apostolate, he was the director of the Provincial School Board and at the same time the Director of Claret Academy in Area ‘A’ New Owerri. Fr. Tony Congrats!

 

REV. FR. WILFRED ANAGBE, CMF, PROVINCIAL ECONOME.

On the 2nd of April, 1965, he was born in Aondona in Gwer - West L.G.A of Benue State.  Fr. Anagbe made his first Religious Profession on the 8th of September, 1987, and professed finally in 1992 and was ordained priest in 1994. Immediately after his ordination he was made the vocation director of the Province. He briefly worked as a school manager    at Claret Nursery primary School, Nekede, before he was appointed the first Claretian Parish Priest to work at St. Peter’s Parish Gariki, in 1998. Because of his zeal for farm work he assumed the post of the manager at the Provincial Farm project in Utonkon. At the final days of his stay at Utonkon Farm he was appointed the pioneer Parish Priest of St. Fidelis Parish, Akpa, in Otukpo Diocese. In 2004 he proceeded to Spain for a specialization on the Church’s history. As he was settling for this specialization, he was elected the Provincial Econome during the V Provincial Chapter held in 2005.  In 2006 the General Government appointed him a member of the General Economic Council of the Congregation that has its headquarters in Rome. In 2009 he was reappointed member of the General Economic Council for another three years. The VI Provincial Chapter re-elected him as Provincial Econome for six years term. Fr. Anagbe is a hardworking Claretian and that has earned him a nick name ‘co- worker’. Some also call him ‘hard Anagbe’ this may not be unconnected with his thoroughness in the discharge of his duty. REV. FR. KENNETH OGUEJIOFOR, CMF, PREFECT OF FORMATION.

Fr. Oguejiofor hails from Adazi  - Nnukwu in Anaocha L.G.A. of Anambra State.  He was born on the 10th of July, 1961. In 1989 he made his first vows. 1992 was the year he made his final profession. And in the year 1993 he was ordained a Claretian Missionary priest. Fr. Kenneth has had his missionary experiences in different capacities: as an associate pastor, Lecturer, Chaplain at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede - Owerri and as a seasoned formator. He has been on Mission in United States of America between 2001 and 2004 under the universal mission arrangement of the Congregation. Currently Fr. Ken is a formator and Lecturer at the Claretian Institute of Philosophy, Nekede. During the VI Provincial Chapter, he was elected the Provincial Prefect of Formation. Congrats!
 

REV. FR. PERPETUS IGWE, CMF, PREFECT OF SPIRITUALITY.

He was born on the 2nd of April, 1964. He hails from Amaimo in Ikeduru L.G.A. of Imo State. His first profession in the Congregation was made in 1987. In 1992 he made his final vows and was ordained a priest in 1994. Soon after his ordination he was posted to Kenya as a Missionary. While a missionary in Kenya, he was appointed the Novice master of the East African Mission of the Claretian Missionaries. This new appointment took him to Jinjah, Uganda. In 2006, he was appointed the Novice Master of Nigerian Province. He came back and resumed duty at Heart of Mary Novitiate Utonkon, in Otukpo Diocese in August of the same year. Between 2008 and 2010 before his election as the Provincial Prefect of Spirituality he joined the pastoral team of St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Afara and St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Nekede, respectively all in Owerri Catholic Archdiocese. We Congratulate Fr. Perpetus Igwe and wish him well in his new assignment.

 

REV. FR. NATHANIEL EKE, CMF, PROVINCIAL SECRETARY

He hails from Umunumo in Ehime Mbano, LGA of Imo State. He was born on 12th April, 1975. He joined the Claretian Missionaries and did his first Religious Profession in 1996 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Umualum, Nekede. He did his final Profession on the 24th of October, 2003. On March 19, 2006, he was ordained a Claretian Missionary priest. He was appointed the Provincial Secretary in 2006 by the immediate past Provincial Government. After the just concluded VI Provincial Chapter he was re-appointed the Provincial Secretary.  We also wish him well in this assignment!
