HOME COMING! 2019 Set of Claretian Priests Visit Claret House of Theology
HOME COMING! 2019 SET OF CLARETIAN PRIESTS VISIT
CLARET HOUSE OF THEOLOGY ATTAKWU ENUGU
Indeed there is no place like home. This popular and timeless English maxim resounded in the mouths of the 2019 set of priests ordained for the Claretian missionaries as they paid a home visit to their house of formation Claret House of Theology Attakwu Enugu from the 14th -15th January 2020. The dynamic set of 2019 priests in the persons of Rev. Frs. Emmanuel Anyaebosim, Henry Ekwems, Peter Onele, Paul Onele and Valentine Orazulume in communion with Fr Henry Lekire, cmf presently posted to Ghana, with their visit revived the tradition of Home Coming which was last done by the 2014 set of priests.
This historic yet nostalgic home coming began with the vespers at the community chapel which left the young priests still with their fresh anointing in reminiscence of their formative years. The host community in thanksgiving to God for their safe arrival entertained their out gone students with beautiful renditions and instrumental presentations during the supper. The entire community especially the students were privileged to be enriched from the wealth of their experiences in the ministry already and also were challenged by the demands of the ministry as each narrated his mission experience.
The high point of the visit was on the 16th of January 2020 during the Eucharistic celebration where the new priests took lead roles in the liturgical celebration as the chief celebrant, homilist and principle concelebrants. There was a group photograph after the Mass. In appreciation to the community for nurturing their vocation they presented new Stations of the Cross pictures which will be used to replace the old ones in the chapel and a bottle of wine to the community.
On a note of thanksgiving, their primus, Rev. Fr. Paul Onele, cmf thanked God for making the visit realizable and stated categorically that if God has enjoined us to honor our parents then they have come to honor their formators who are their religious parents. He equally enjoined the younger once to embrace such positive legacies.
The superior of the Community Very Rev. Fr. Charles Amadi, cmf thanked the 2019 set for their visit and gift and assured them of our continued prayers. After breakfast, the brothers returned to their places of apostolate.
