Immaculate Heart of Mary Celebration

Today 29 June 2019, the Sons of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary gathered at St Anthony Mary Claret Parish Area A New Owerri Imo State Nigeria to mark the celebration of the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary have concluded the novena prayer in all their places of apostolate.
This year’s theme is: Immaculate Heart of Mary: Panacea to Christians Lukewarmness.
The day’s activities began at 10am with a motorcade rosary procession along the streets of Owerri proclaiming the triumph of the Immaculate Heart.
The Holy Mass was celebrated by the Provincial Superior of the East Nigeria Province VRF Simeon Nwobi,CMF with other Claretian Priests as concelebrants.
In his homily, Fr Simeon called all to search for Jesus as Mary and Joseph did. He asked the audience, “Are you in the Father’s house doing his business? The parents of Jesus found him in the temple teaching the learned. What is your position with God? The Heart of Mary, he said, is a heart that insists that we come back to God – to be where we suppose to be that is the presence of God. If you have left Jesus behind, retrace your steps and go back to him”.
After the Mass which was attended by the Claretian Sisters, Immaculate Heart of Mary Sisters, Sisters of the Holy Family, Lay Claretians and Associates, other lay faithful and collaborators in the Mission; the enthusiastic congregation was thrilled with several cultural entertainment by the pupils and students of our schools.
