The Quinquennium Encounter of the East Nigeria Province for the year 2021 spanned from 12 -16 of April at the New Students Hostel at Maryland Nekede, Nigeria. The encounter was blessed with a successful arrival of 12 participants – Frs., Dominic Ukpong, Uche Cletus, Uwakwe Dennis, Anyaebosim Emmanuel, Ekwems Henry, Onele Paul, Onele Peter, Orazulume Valentine, Madunagu Michael, Obiadazie Augustine, Okonkwo Charles and Okoye Vincent, CMFF.

The 12th of April was the setting up of the program for the encounter. The activities of the encounter included Holy Mass with Lauds, Sharing of Apostolate Experiences, and Eucharistic Adoration with an accompanying Vespers. The Quinquennium was facilitated by Rev. Fr. Kenneth Oguejiofor, CMF, the Provincial Prefect of Formation. His themed reflections centred on fruitful common life and security consciousness.

However, Very Rev Fr Emmanuel Edeh, CMF shared the constitutions flavouring it with his experience as a Claretian missionary. He encouraged the participants to be conscious of the first five years of our priestly ministry by dedicating all their work and being to the glory of God, sanctification of our souls and salvation of the world.

More so, at the closing stages of the 2021 Quinquennium there was a gala night. The concluding Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by the Provincial Superior, Very Rev. Fr. Simeon Nwobi.

The participants relished the Spirit-filled encounter.

Fr. Michael Edwin Madunagu, CMF.
