ANIMATION VISIT AND ENCOUNTER WITH INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS IN NORTHERN NIGERIA BY THE PROVINCIAL PREFECTS OF APOSTOLATE AND ECONOMY
by cmf
In the spirit of dedication and deep concern for spiritual/ pastoral/ material well-being and growth in the missions, the provincial prefects of Apostolate and Economy Frs. Wenceslaus Isidienu and Marcel Obilo, CMFF set out on a visit of animation to our various mission positions in the northern part of Nigeria, an exercise which began on Monday 16 March, 2024. Aimed at injecting fresh enthusiasm into our missionaries as well as bringing the provincial animators closer to the missions, to create room too for closer dialogue with the bishops with whom we collaborate and share in the lives of God’s people in the peripheries, the visit has been one packed with shades of experiences.
The high points came with visits to the bishops who have all expressed deep satisfaction with the work done by our missionaries and the visit of the animators to the camps where those who have been internally displaced from their ancestral homes due to insurgency and the killings by Militia Fulani herdsmen in Benue State Nigeria stay. The victims expressed their joy at the visit and thanked the church and congregation for standing by them in their moments of near despair.
